Today, May 25, 2022, Water Street is getting the full depth repair of soft spots and is being filled back to grade. The final application of top coat asphalt will be applied next week.
Considering the holiday weekend traffic and on street parking demands and a high heat forecast, our engineer, service department and contractor felt it best to defer top coat application to avoid risk of the asphalt getting damaged and potentially cracking due to anticipated conditions.
The pavement on these residential streets is designed to last 20 to 25 years. Accordingly, the final application is an important step to be applied in ideal conditions. The crosswalks and curb areas will be built up to eliminate any trip hazards for pedestrians.
Thank you for your understanding as this is a necessary schedule adjustment to assure a quality job for years to come.
