FIRST ENERGY UPDATE, 12/2/2020

Crews have restored power to over 100,000 customers since yesterday morning. The Winter storm brought heavy, wet snow along with high winds to all four counties within the service territory making travel and restoration work much more difficult.

As of 9 a.m. there are 45,000 customers without power in the region. There is an estimated time of restoral of 11 p.m. Thursday.  All Illuminating Company personnel will continue working 16-hour shifts.

There are currently over 1,600 hazard / wire down orders in the region. Additional orders are coming in at a rate of 30 per hour due to additional assessments from property owners along with trees and tree limbs continuing to fall into electrical equipment.

ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS

Electrical contractors assisting residents with emergency electrical repair due to storm damage should contact the building department to help expedite required inspections.  First Energy requires these inspections prior to restoration of power.

LIMBS | BRUSH DAMAGE

We will be assisting residents with brush removal from storm damage in the near future.  Details will be forthcoming.  Trees damaged on village property are our 1st priority.  Place limbs on the tree lawn with trunk side toward street for easy removal.
