PRESS RELEASE NOTICE:
The East Washington Street Improvement Project is well underway and utility work in the section of the street between Cleveland Street and Ridgewood Road is nearing completion. Due to changing project variables, there will be a change in the schedule for the project moving forward. The updated schedule is as follows:
- Philomethian Street to Cleveland Street – Monday, August 24 through Friday, October 2
- North Main Street to Philomethian Street – Monday, September 28 through Friday, November 6
- Ridgewood Road to Billy Campbell Boulevard – Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 27
- PAVING WORK THROUGH THE ENTIRE PROJECT AREA – Wednesday, November 4 through Friday, November 20, weather-permitting
|Philomethian to Cleveland||M 8/24||F 10/2|
|North Main to Philomethian||M 9/28||F 11/27|
|Ridgewood to Billy Campbell Blvd||M 11/2 – F 11/27|
|Entire project area *weather permitting||W 11/4 – F 11/20|
Major work resulting in full road closures will be performed in the first two sections listed above. Accommodations will be made to allow access for property owners in each closed block traveling in the EASTBOUND direction only. Work in the section east of Ridgewood Road as well as the paving work throughout the entire project area will not require a full road closure, as traffic will be managed with flaggers for both of these phases of the project.
Traffic will be detoured to BELL STREET for the full road closure periods. Signage has been posted for the detour route. This schedule is approximate and subject to change due to weather and project variables. Village staff, our engineer, and the contractors on the project will work to minimize disruption and inconvenience during this major project.
Letters to each property owner reporting the condition of your sanitary sewer lateral and the cost to have it relined, if needed, as part of this project will be mailed out within the next one to two weeks.
This project is scheduled to reach completion around December 1, 2020. Further information will be posted when announced throughout the duration of the project. This project is funded by low-interest loans from the Ohio EPA and a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we look to complete this project in an efficient manner.
