In 2008 the Chagrin Falls Fire Department passed an ordinance requiring that Key Boxes shall be installed on all commercial and educational occupancies, as well as multi-family dwellings which are designed for occupancy by more than two families within the Village of Chagrin Falls.
The Fire Department has used the Knox Rapid Entry system since 2008 date with great success. It provides Firefighters quick access to victims with no damage to the structure from forcible entry.
Recently, several residents from the six communities we serve have inquired about purchasing Key Boxes for single family homes. In the past we have used commercially rated products from the Knox Company. We as of June 1st we will have order forms for Residential Knox Box products which are more cost effective for individual homeowners.
If you would like more information on Key Boxes or the Knox Program please contact Fire Marshal Jim Alunni at 440-247-1671.
Ron Campanella from Pro Fire Equipment will be inspecting and recharging residential fire extinguishers at the Chagrin Falls Fire Department, 21 W. Washington St. The Fire Department entrance is on the Walnut St. side of the building. This service is FREE.
Ron will be there with his truck from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
