Press Release – Criminal Investigation

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION
Suspected Theft

Chagrin Falls, OHIO. (June 23, 2020) – In December of 2019, the Village Administration became aware of suspected theft that was taking place within the Utility and Building Departments. 

The Police Department was immediately notified, and an investigation into the matter was initiated.  The employee that was suspected of the theft resigned in December of 2019.

The Village has insurance coverage to protect against acts of theft by employees.

The matter has been turned over to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.

No further comment will be made on this matter pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.

This project will be funded by the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund Program as administered by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio Water Development Authority. The Contractor shall note that there are Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation goals for this project.

All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required.

DOMESTIC STEEL USE REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE APPLY TO THIS PROJECT. COPIES OF SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE OFFICE OF THE OHIO FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION COMMISSION.

Chagrin Falls 4th of July Community Celebration Cancelled

June 17, 2020                                                                                     

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH: The Chagrin Falls Historical Society and Museum, along with our partners Safe Routes Chagrin and the Daughters of the American Revolution: Molly Chittenden Chapter, announces that the 4th of July Community Celebration for 2020 has been cancelled. The health, safety, and welfare of our volunteers, staff, and residents takes top priority. This was a difficult decision but having large events puts the community at risk and we must do our best to stay safe and continue to follow social distance guidelines. We can’t wait to celebrate next year with our beloved ceremony, pet parade, bike parade, and more family fun!
