The Village of Chagrin Falls is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Building and Zoning Inspector.  The successful candidate will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and train under the current Building and Zoning Inspector until their retirement in the spring of 2022.  Candidates must have or be able to obtain the International Code Council (I.C.C.) or State of Ohio residential building inspector and plumbing certifications within 12 months of hire date.  A full job description and application form are available at www.chagrin-falls.org.  Please submit applications and resumes no later than April 5, 2021 to the Village of Chagrin Falls; Robert Jamieson, Chief Administrative Officer, 21 West Washington Street, Chagrin Falls, OH  44022 or via email at rjamieson@chagrin-falls.org

Fight with Fischer Fundraiser

FIGHT WITH FISCHER FUNDRAISER

  Jason Fischer joined the Chagrin Falls Police Department in 2012. He began his career as a part-time officer. Approximately six months later, Jason moved to a full-time Patrolman position. Jason was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2019.  During his tenure, Jason has been very active in Community Policing. Specifically, Jason uses sports as a vehicle to positively interact with kids and young adults in our community.

     In 2015, Jason created the “Chagrin Classic” basketball game. The game involves members of the Chagrin Falls Safety Forces playing members of the Chagrin Falls High School Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. In the beginning, the proceeds of the Chagrin Classic were used to support local causes. Now, the primary goal of the event is to raise awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and other forms of cancer. At the same time, this event brings together members of our community and first responders.

     Jason’s hard work and dedication has made this game extremely successful. Through his efforts, thousands of dollars have been raised and donated to people in need.  It is now time for us to look out for Jason. In late 2020, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Jason is currently in treatment and is progressing through the long, daunting process.

     Jason is a private person, and does not want any recognition or assistance. However, we truly want to support one of our own! By purchasing an item, your contribution will support Jason and his family during this trying time.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Zoning Appeals of the Village of Chagrin Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 utilizing a virtual meeting format at the request of Riverhaus Chagrin LLC/Brickhaus Partners for a variance to Section 1148.07(c), Retaining Walls, specifically at 180 Cleveland Street, Permanent Parcel No. 931-17-003.

In accordance with Sub. HB 197, this meeting will be held as a remote meeting. No one will be in attendance at the Village Hall Council Chambers and the public is not permitted to access the Council Chambers during the meeting. Access is available to the public only via telephone, YouTube, and through Zoom web conferencing. Instructions on joining the meeting using these methods are listed on the village website at www.chagrin-falls.org. If you wish to view the project materials prior to the meeting, please contact Robert Jamieson, Chief Administrative Officer, at (440) 247-2798 or at rjamieson@chagrin-falls.org.

The public may appear remotely and speak and present written comments or other documents given to the Chief Administrative Officer of the Village at least three business days prior to the hearing, either by email at rjamieson@chagrin-falls.org, sending PDF format documents, or by delivering the documents to the Village using the drop box in the front of Village Hall addressed to the Chief Administrative Officer and noting they are documents to be used in the hearing for 180 Cleveland Street on March 29, 2021.
