Public Hearing – Council – Solether Lane (8/6, 7:00 PM)

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Council of the Village of Chagrin Falls, Ohio at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2020 utilizing the Zoom virtual meeting format pursuant to Section 1111.06 of the Planning and Zoning Code whereby Council has been petitioned by three council members to review the decision of the Board of Zoning Appeals in denying an appeal to the action of the Planning and Zoning Commission in granting a lot consolidation request by Denis Marino on Solether Lane.  The following modification from the Planning and Zoning Commission is the original action in question:

  1. Section 1161.05(h)(4) Design Standards; Lots; Minimum Lot Depth.  No lot depth shall exceed four and one-half times the lot width or less than one and one-half times the width unless otherwise approved by the Commission.  The lot width shall be measured at the minimum building setback line.

In accordance with Sub. HB 197, this meeting will be held as a remote meeting.  No one will be in attendance at the Village Hall Council Chambers and the public is not permitted to access the Council Chambers during the meeting.  Access is available to the public only via telephone, YouTube, and through Zoom web conferencing.  Instructions on joining the meeting are listed here.

First Energy – Smart Meter installations starting July 20th

FirstEnergy is installing smart meters on homes and businesses starting July 20th. Exchanging your current meter with a smart meter takes very little time and even less effort from you.

Installation Overview

  • On the day of the installation, an installer from FirstEnergy or our vendor – Wellington Energy – will come to your door to let you know they are installing your meter.
  • If no one answers, we will leave a door hanger either indicating that the meter has been changed or asking you to contact us to schedule an appointment to change your meter.
  • Unless your meter is located inside your premises, the installer will not need to enter your premises

Who is Installing

  • FirstEnergy employees and contractor, Wellington Energy.
  • Please be aware that all of our installers will be carrying a photo identification badge from FirstEnergy.
  • FirstEnergy installers will wear standard uniforms and trucks.
  • Wellington Energy installers will wear a brown uniform with a Wellington logo and their white trucks will have Wellington Energy and FirstEnergy logos.
  • If an installer cannot show you an identification badge, or if you have a concern about that person’s identity, please call Wellington Energy at 888-317-8815.

Minor Service Disruption

  • There will be a brief interruption in your electric service when the meter is being installed, so you may need to reset some of your electronic equipment.

Public Hearing – BZA – 35 Maple Street (7/28, 7:30 PM)

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Zoning Appeals of the Village of Chagrin Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 utilizing a virtual meeting format at the request of Robb and Susan Junker, for a variance to Section 1145.02(b), Nonconforming Buildings and Structures, specifically at 35 Maple Street, Permanent Parcel No. 932-05-003.

In accordance with Sub. HB 197, this meeting will be held as a remote meeting. No one will be in attendance at the Village Hall Council Chambers and the public is not permitted to access the Council Chambers during the meeting. Access is available to the public only via telephone, YouTube and through Zoom web conferencing. Instructions on joining the meeting using these methods are listed on the village website at https://chagrin-falls.org/virtual-meetings/ . The public may appear remotely and speak and present written comments, or other documents given to the Chief Administrative Officer, at least three business days prior to the hearing, either by email at rjamieson@chagrin-falls.org, sending PDF format documents, or by delivering the documents to the Village using the drop box in the front of Village Hall addressed to the Chief Administrative Officer and noting that they are documents to be used in the hearing for 35 Maple Street on July 28, 2020.
