To our Chagrin Falls Merchants,
As you all well know, the holiday shopping season is underway and business traffic into our Village will increase. With that being said, I want to offer you a few reminders and considerations from our department for your benefit:
- Please be mindful that with the increased business traffic, there is increased potential for theft and other related crimes. If you should happen to see a crime taking place, please do not hesitate to call. Calling the day after, or even five to ten minutes later makes it difficult to track down suspects and far less likely to recover stolen items and ensure prosecution of such crimes.
- Please remember to ensure your businesses are locked up at the end of your operating hours.
- If you have camera equipment, please make sure it is in good working condition and that you know how to retrieve the footage if requested.
- If you observe what appears to be any sort of suspicious activity, do not hesitate to contact our department immediately. It is better for us to check something out and find out it was unfounded, than not to report it and later find it to be a matter of significance.
Thank you for your hard work. Our department wishes you well in your holiday business. Lastly, please know that we are dedicated and proud to serve our community, including our merchants, with courtesy, professionalism, and respect.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
